Legalization

The legalization process requires two certifications, one by the us government authorities of Cameroon and one by the authorities of the united states where the documents will be used (the receiving country). This second certification, generally supplied by the embassy or consulate representing the receiving country in Cameroon, confirms the initial certification and validates the document for official used in that country.

We provide legalization of most kinds of official documents, including identity documents, birth and marriage certificates, police clearance and criminal record checks, academic diplomas and corporate documents. We also arrange for attestation of private documents such as Powers of Attorney, Affidavits and certified passport copies.

We also provide document authentication and apostille services. This is the procedure whereby a document originating from a nation that’s signed the Hague Apostille Convention (Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents) is replaced having an Apostille certificate, which is legally comparable to the original.

Apostille

An Apostille is just a certificate that verifies the authenticity of one’s signature and seal on a public document. It is just a common requirement for legal purposes, especially if you are making transactions in other countries.

Apostille is issued by an agency of the us government in the issuing state. It is just a less complicated form of authentication than full diplomatic certification, which may involve several government agencies.

Cameroon is not really a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, meaning any documents sent for them will need State, U.S. Department of State, and Cameroon Embassy legalization before they could be accepted in the country.

You should choose the proper agency to obtain your documents authenticated or legalized predicated on where they’ll be used. Apostilles could be obtained throughout your county clerk or state secretary of state.
